Outreach and training

Below is a list of resources provided during workshops given by CYDI to schools and community mental health providers. 

Students with Autism

Trauma

Antecedent-Based Intervention

can be used in classrooms to decrease an interfering behavior and increase on-task behavior.

Evidence-Based Strategies for Classroom

Provides multiple strategies for different domains, e.g., social engagement and inclusion, stress management, and more. ​

Peer-Mediated Interventions

Effectively addresses social skill interactions and academics skills for students with ASD.

Self-Management/Self-Monitoring

Helps students with ASD understand the rules, expectations, and norms in classroom settings.

Check-in/Check-Out (CICO)

Can be used by general education teachers to help increase on-task behaviors in classrooms and improve classroom management.

Functional Behavior Assessment

Can be used to understand challenging behaviors in classrooms, specifically behaviors that interfere with students' ability to learn.

Schedules

Helps students with ASD understand expectations and routine.

Social Skills Group/Training

Provides ways to improve students with ASD's social skills.

Video Modeling

Uses video technology to provide model for targeted behavior or skill.

Trauma Toolkit for Educators

Provides facts, statistics, as well as suggestions for educators of children exposed to traumatic events.

Helping Traumatized Children Learn

Provides tips on how to create a conducive learning environment for students who have experienced trauma.

The Effects of Adverse Childhood Effects

Gives resources on preventing and mitigating the effects of adverse childhood experiences for adolescents and young adults. 

Trauma-Informed Policy Framework

Introduces trauma-informed policy framework to respond to trauma through public policies.

Trauma-Informed Classrooms

How to create classroom environments for children who have experienced trauma.

Self-Regulation

Self-Regulation in Adolescents/Young Adults

Provides tips on how to practice self-regulation for youth and adolescents.
