Facial Affect Sensitivity Training (FAST)

The Center for Youth Development and Intervention at the University of Alabama is conducting a research study to evaluate a new computerized treatment for children 6 – 11 years old with certain difficulties, including low empathy or concern for others, which are difficulties that can put them at risk for developing behavioral problems. Enrollment is now open.

Participants will be randomized to either FAST Therapy or a no-treatment control group. FAST therapy involves coming in for 11 sessions and the no-treatment group involves coming in for 7 sessions. There is no cost for this program. No matter which group your child is assigned to, we pay as you go and you will get a total of $300 if you finish the entire study. Your child will earn a number of small toys and a total of $40 cash.

Interested in participating in FAST?

If you would like more information concerning the research, please reach out to our coordinator:
Shane Jones via email at jones178@ua.edu or phone 205-348-3525.
